An accredited investor is a person or a business entity who is allowed to deal in securities that are not registered with governing authorities. They are entitled to such privileged access if they satisfy one (or more) requirements regarding income, net worth, asset size, governance status or professional experience.
An individual must have a net worth, or joint net worth with their spouse, excluding their primary residence but including home furnishings and personal automobiles of more than $1,000,000;
must have an individual income in excess of $200,000 or joint income with their spouse in excess of $300,000, in each of the two (2) most recent years and have a reasonable expectation of reaching the same income level in this year.

Ownership interests in DSTs are securities. Typically, they must be registered and can only be sold by licensed financial advisors. Kingsbarn has structured these securities, however, according to certain state and federal exemptions in order to allow California real estate licensees to receive compensation on the sale of DST interests.
